Often jokingly referred to as “Rush Limbaugh in a miniskirt,” political commentator Ann Coulter has earned herself a permanent place in the spotlight with her scathing critiques of anyone who fails to agree with her unabashedly conservative viewpoint. In 2001, federal judge Richard Posner named Coulter to the Top 100 Public Intellectuals.

Ann Coulter was born 8 December 1961. She had a solidly middle class upbringing in Connecticut and went on to graduate cum laude from Cornell in 1984. After earning a degree from the University of Michigan Law School, Ann Coulter worked in a private practice specializing in corporate law. She later worked with the United States Senate Judiciary Committee and the Center for Individual Rights before beginning her career as a writer and speaker. Ann Coulter is not married and has no children.

Ann Coulter rose to fame on the basis of her controversial weekly newspaper column that is highly critical of liberals and Democrats, while tackling tough topics such as the aftermath of the 9/11 terrorist attacks and the war in Iraq. Her syndicated column also appears on a number of conservative websites, including Human Events Online and Jewish World Review.

In addition to her newspaper column, Ann Coulter is the author of High Crimes and Misdemeanors: The Case Against Bill Clinton, Slander: Liberal Lies About the American Right, Treason: Liberal Treachery from the Cold War to the War on Terrorism, How to Talk to a Liberal (If You Must): The World According to Ann Coulter, and Godless: The Church of Liberalism. All of her books have spent significant time on The New York Times bestseller list.

Ann Coulter’s media appearances have included The O'Reilly Factor, Crossfire, Real Time, American Morning, The Today Show, and Politically Incorrect. She was also prominently featured in FahrenHYPE 9/11, a documentary created as a rebuttal for Michael Moore's Fahrenheit 911. A documentary about her life and career, entitled Is It True What They Say About Ann?, was released in 2004.

Ann Coulter often quotes Christian scriptures in her work. In fact, she claims her belief in Jesus Christ and the fundamental tenants of Christianity provides the basis for many of her arguments. Despite this, she is not always supported by the religious community, and has faced criticisms for some of her beliefs, most commonly when relating religion to other areas, such as race.
